Private hospitals and healthcare centres could be given warnings and opportunities to rectify violations before facing licence suspension or withdrawal under proposed legislative amendments to be debated by the Shura Council on Sunday.
The proposal, spearheaded by Dr Ibtisam Al Dallal and backed by four other council members, seeks to introduce a graduated system of administrative penalties for private healthcare institutions, replacing the current approach that allows regulators to impose immediate and severe measures regardless of the nature of the violation .
