TEAMS have started arriving in Bahrain for the 37th Asian Road Cycling, 24th Junior Road Cycling and Sixth Para-cycling Championships starting tomorrow and ending on March 2 at Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.
Uzbekistan and China arrived two days and were joined by Iraq, Syria, Hong Kong and South Korea.
Bahrain is hosting these championships for the first time.
The Para-cycling championship kicks-off on Saturday at 11am with the men’s race to be held over 25.6kms and the women’s over 12.8kms.
Malaysia, Iran, India and hosts Bahrain will be taking part in Para-cycling competition.
The Bahrain team consists of Ruba Al Omairy and Amal Fardan.
The duo earlier took part in the West Asian Paralympic Games.
Iran will be participating with two cyclists - Mahdi Mohamady and Burham.
Malaysia will participate with the biggest team of eight cyclists and they are Najmy Romzy, Netham Mohammed, Noor Seyafeeq, Raimy Mohammed, Seyazon Rushdy, Tu Kiong, Seyasafeeq Shams Aldeen and Noor Aldeen Sam.
India will take part with seven cyclists and they are Kumar Mehta, Abhishek Singh, David Sha, Harjinder Singh, Kumar Ajai and B Singh.
