This letter is about school bus drivers. These drivers always arrive at the bus stop late and blame traffic.
But they don’t realise that there’s no traffic in the early morning. They just wake up late or are just lazy.
This causes not only irritation and anger but the children also reach the school late and the teachers scold them for something they did not do.
And the condition of the buses they use is also horrible. The bus they use for transporting labourers is used to transport children. The labourers might spit on the seat or floor or just throw waste around in the bus, which is a health hazard.
And at times the air conditioners of the bus might not work or one of the tyres would be punctured. Most parents are worried about the buses after the bus-fire incident in February.
The parents have repeatedly asked the schools to change the bus supplying agent but there has been no response.
Is this a way to treat children who are the future?
I request the Education Ministry to look into this matter.
