BAHRAIN has officially blacklisted a construction firm at the centre of a pay dispute since last November.
It means G P Zachariades Civil Engineering and Contractors (GPZ) will not be able to recruit new employees, renew staff visas or sign agreements with subcontractors.
Labour and Social Development Ministry Labour Affairs Under-Secretary Sabah Al Doseri revealed the decision yesterday, after yet another protest by company staff over non-payment of salaries on Sunday.

He said around 100 GPZ employees protested at their accommodation over alleged non-payment and lack of food, adding the firm had also been blacklisted by the Indian Embassy.
Mr Al Doseri said the company had failed to produce details of outstanding salaries owed to its workforce requested during a meeting on September 6.
