MANAMA: A signing ceremony was held yesterday for the award of the main construction contract of the Mall of Dilmunia.
Being built by the Dilmunia Mall Development Company, the $137 million family-centric mall in the heart of the man-made Dilmunia Island will feature more than 200 retail outlets on a total built-up area of 125,000 sqm.
The main contractor of the project is Bahrain-based Cyprus Cybarco Tabet JV, while the international architectural design has been readied by Singapore-based DP Architects.
Mazen Al Umran Engineering Consulting is the project consultant, while DG Jones is the project manager and cost consultant.
The Crescent-shaped mall will overlook a canal and a lush green landscape and include a 16m high cylindrical aquarium and a hi-tech indoor ice-rink as unique attractions, said Dilmunia Mall Development Company chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
