Schools will remain closed today in the Saudi province of Al Jouf and other areas following a snowstorm and hailstones, according to Almowaten.
Education director-general Said Al Ghamdi gave directives to shut down schools which suffered damages, as meteorologists forecast more torrential rain.
Videos and pictures of snow and hailstones shrouding towns, villages and mountains were posted on social media.
The snowfall was the heaviest especially in the city of Skaka and Douma Al Jandal, reaching depths of 20 centimetres in Maikou region.
