Prince Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the 10th son of Saudi Arabia's founding monarch, has died at the age of 96.
The prince was the eldest living son of King Abdulaziz Al Saud.
His death was announced on Twitter on Sunday by Prince Faisal bin Turki.
Prince Bandar's sons hold important posts: Prince Faisal bin Bandar is governor of Riyadh, Prince Abdullah bin Bandar heads the National Guard and Prince Khalid bin Bandar serves as an adviser to King Salman.
President Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a cable of condolences to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, on the death of Prince Bandar.
