Several MPs have submitted a legislative proposal to grant each Bahraini breadwinner a BD20 allowance for each newborn child.
Under Article 2 of the proposed bill, each Bahraini head of a family shall be entitled to a monthly allowance of BD20 for each newborn, covering a maximum of four children, MP Ahmed Al Kooheji told our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.
The benefit shall be suspended once beneficiaries reach 18 years of age, unless they are unable to work, he added.
