THE Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) disciplinary committee yesterday fined two of its teams.
Chaired by Essam Al Jaziri, the panel fined Manama BD1,000 for its fans’ offensive chants which marred its match against arch-rivals Muharraq on Thursday in the Zain Bahrain Premier League League.
Attended by members Saud Al Bahri and Sayyed Jaffer, the committee also fined Muharraq BD1,500 after its fans also indulged in offensive chanting and throwing juice and water bottles which bought the match to a halt.
The disciplinary panel has also banned a supporter of Manama team from attending basketball matches for the rest of the 2019-202 season because of his misbehaviour during the match, especially towards referee Fadhel Ghuloom.
