Edamah’s other strategic project is called Sa’ada, which means ‘happiness’ in Arabic, and was named by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
Its key goal has been to ‘bring Muharraq back to the sea’.
Described as ‘a social project’ with the main aim to address public pedestrian waterfront space to both residents and tourists, it aims to add value to the community, economy and heritage footfall to Bahrain and links Muharraq Souq to the water’s edge.
Sa’ada Phase 1 (West) provides a fully accessible public waterfront with shaded terraces and parking. There are several buildings for lease which will house a variety of functions including F&B, kiosks, prayer halls and other supporting facilities, including a chandlery to support marina berths now in place.
“Sa’ada for us is a strategic project because it has the ability to create a ‘destination’,” said Edamah’s chief executive Mr Alarrayed.
“There is now a bigger waterfront ready now – delivered in 2020 – and there will be a car parking structure close to the old souq, to not only serve our project but also the Pearl Trail.
“We will have 200 car parking spaces near our project and an additional multi-story car park with 500 spaces.”
