Two unauthorised travel agencies have been closed down for offering promotional packages to Iran.
The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has closed down the two offices as part of precautionary and preventive measures necessary to deal with the Coronavirus (Covid-19) and prevent its spread in Bahrain, as all travel and tourism agencies have been ordered to immediately cease promotional offers to travel to Iran.
The BTEA said in a statement today that in cooperation with the Inspection Department and the Commercial Registration Department of the Industry Commerce and Tourism Ministry, they closed the two unlicensed travel offices for announcing promotional offers for a number of tourist destinations, including Iran, without obtaining the required licence.
