THE Bahraini youth bowed out of the Arab Cup Under-20 Championship last night in Riyadh going down to Senegal 0-5.
Samba Diallo scored a hat-trick to lead Senegal’s attack. He scored in the seventh, 17th and 74th minutes while Moussa Ndiaye netted in the 22nd and 81st minutes.
Senegal led 3-0 at half-time.
Bahrain qualified for the quarter-final finishing second in Group ‘B’ behind Morocco following a thrilling 5-4 victory and a 2-1 defeat of Madagascar in their last group match.
Bahrain lost their opening match to Morocco 2-4.
Meanwhile, in the other quarter-finals yesterday, Tunisia beat Algeria 2-0, Morocco edged out Libya 9-8 in a thrilling sudden-death after full-time and extra-time finished goalless and Egypt pipped Iraq 1-0.
The Bahrain delegation is led by team director Shaikh Salman bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa and includes head coach Ismail Karami, assistant coach Adel Al Nuaimi and physical fitness coach Walid Sharfuddine.
