Riyadh: A Saudi bridegroom found himself in an embarrassing situation when the bride’s mother informed him that she has cancelled the wedding because she had arranged for a famous singer to perform at the wedding and the singer cancelled the programme because of heavy rains.
The man and his family were shocked to hear the news barely a few hours before the wedding ceremony.
According to a report in Emirates 24/7, the bride's mother refused to allow her daughter to get married without the singer’s performance, and requested the groom’s family to reschedule the wedding date.
However, the groom’s family denied their request.
Luckily, one of his uncles stepped in and proposed that his daughter would be happy to marry him.
The wedding ceremony took place as planned but with a new bride.
The story has since gone viral on the internet with the netisens blaming the bride and her mother for their ridiculous decision, especially when all arrangements were made by the groom’s side.
Many congratulated the man saying he was fortunate not to marry the first bride.
