MANAMA: Bahrain’s dedicated efforts to combat the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic have been praised.
Akhbar Al Khaleej Editor-in-Chief Anwar Abdulrahman saluted frontliners who work round the clock to protect the safety and health of citizens and residents.
He underlined the directives and support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Prime Minister, for the National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus (Covid-19).
“Bahrain was among the first countries to take pre-emptive measures to combat the disease,” he said.
He made the statement as he visited the task force’s operation room at the Crown Prince Centre for Training and Medical Research.
Al Ayyam Editor-in-Chief Isa Al Shaiji also took part in the visit, along with Moanes Al Mardi and Ehab Ahmed, editors-in-chief of Al Bilad and Al Watan newspapers.
They took stock of the task force’s work procedures and strategies in combating the pandemic, taking pride in national frontliners’ competence and dedicated efforts which have earned Bahrain international praise.
Mr Abdulrahman reiterated the call to citizens and residents to commit to mandatory precautionary measures to reduce the rate of infections for life to return to normal quickly.
He also pointed out the government’s support since the pandemic started.
Mr Al Shaiji said that Bahrain has set an inspiring model for other countries by its efficient management of the crisis, the pre-emptive mandatory precautionary measures and dedicated competent frontline workers.
Protect
He praised the government’s successful decisions to protect citizens and residents, support the national economy – an effort that is reflected in Bahrain’s business indicators and low death toll compared with the rate of infections.
He praised the Crown Prince Prime Minister’s meeting with the editors-in-chief of local newspapers, describing citizens as a source of strength for Bahrain.
Mr Al Mardi said: “The national heroes embodied a humanitarian message which reflects the kingdom’s standing as a beacon of peace and an oasis of co-existence.”
