MANAMA: Bahrain’s sincere efforts led by His Majesty King Hamad to boost Arab solidarity and promote pan-Arab work to deter threats and foster regional security and stability were praised by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi.
The Egyptian President conveyed his greetings to His Majesty as he received yesterday Arab Parliament Speaker Adel Al Asoomi in the presence of Egyptian parliament Speaker Dr Hanafi Jebali and Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
During the meeting, President Al Sisi was granted the “Leader Medal”, the highest decoration bestowed by the Arab Parliament on heads of states for their services to the Arab nation.
The medal was conferred on the Egyptian President in tribute to his tireless efforts, which are reflected in Egypt’s conscious and discreet policies in serving Arab issues, including reaching a ceasefire agreement recently between the Palestinians and Israelis which spared Gaza Strip more material and human losses. The medal was also a tribute to President Al Sisi’s efforts to fast-track development in Egypt.
President Al Sisi thanked the Arab Parliament for the medal, praising its support to Egypt in preserving its national security.
He also commended the parliament’s efforts as a platform for dialogue and as a popular driving force for pan-Arab work to serve the interests of the Arab nation. He stressed Egypt’s support to the Arab Parliament to achieve its goals and serve Arab issues.
Mr Al Asoomi praised Egypt’s role in protecting the Arab national security and promoting pan-Arab work. He praised Egypt’s pioneering parliamentary experience and its hosting of the Arab Parliament’s temporary headquarters.
