Bahrain’s largest in-mall cylindrical aquarium was unveiled at the Mall of Dilmunia last night.
The Bahrain Aquarium, which rises to a height of 17 metres and is seven metres wide, is home to more than 2,700 aquatic creatures from 85 species including sharks, rays, fish and more.
The aquarium was unveiled by Mall of Dilmunia chief executive Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa and deputy chief executive Rebecca Charlotte Arnold.

It is the first cylindrical aquarium of this magnitude inside a mall within the Middle East. Alongside the unveiling, a documentary about the aquarium project and how it became a reality was screened.

The facility will be offering educational programmes and tours soon to raise community awareness about marine life and the delicate marine ecosystem.
