The big race Post Position Draw took place yesterday on the Croquet Lawn of the Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain.
The live draw decided which stall the runners will start from as they compete for glory in the £500,000 (BD250,000) Group Three Bahrain International Trophy at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club tomorrow.
Race executives joined owners, trainers and jockeys at the event, taking to the stage after picking up a memento with a random number underneath from Adrian Beaumont, director of International Racing Bureau.
Although it is preferable to draw low rather than high; the 2,000 metre (10 furlong) distance of the outing means it will be anyone’s race, due to the significant run to the first bend.
Adrian Beaumont, director of International Racing Bureau (IRB), said: “Everyone is very excited to participate in the third running of the Bahrain International Trophy. The Post Position Draw is a great way to build up the adrenalin – and we can’t wait for Friday.”
