Oman's Health Ministry has announced that about 99 per cent of Covid-19 cases in the country have been diagnosed with the Omicron mutation of the virus.
"According to the statistics and the results of laboratory tests, about 99 per cent of Covid-19 cases registered in the Sultanate during the current period are infected with the Omicron mutator, and the number of registered cases is increasing, and it is expected that the cases will continue to rise during the coming period," the ministry's Prevention and Infection Control Department director Dr Amal bint SaifAl Maani said.
