The General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (Cibafi) has officially launched the Cibafi Academy during its 26th annual general meeting (AGM).
The newly debuted digital platform is dedicated to global capacity building, offering specialist training, internationally recognised professional certifications, and bespoke programmes tailored to the evolving Islamic finance sector.
Held virtually, the AGM drew active participation from members and stakeholders spanning more than 31 countries to review the council’s 2025 milestones and chart its future strategy.
Inaugurating the meeting, Cibafi vice-chairman Abd El Hameed Abou Mosa articulated a comprehensive vision for elevating the Islamic financial services industry globally, thanking members for their steadfast trust in advancing sustainable development.
Members reviewed the 2025 Activities Report, which highlighted achievements across advanced professional development, knowledge initiatives, industry advocacy, and strategic global partnerships.
“We do not view this meeting merely as an annual gathering, but as a strategic milestone that renews our vision and redefines our aspirations,” said Cibafi secretary general Hamza Bawazir.
“Our commitment to delivering value-driven initiatives, fostering knowledge exchange, and strengthening cooperation among Islamic financial institutions worldwide is a strategic imperative.”
Looking ahead, the Bahrain-headquartered umbrella organisation reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing global industry collaboration, promoting sound governance, and supporting the sustainable growth of Islamic finance worldwide.
