The Zubair Corporation (TZC), one of the consignment family-owned businesses in Oman with a diverse portfolio of subsidiaries, has partnered with global technology company SAP to power its group-wide digital transformation.
TZC will implement the latest SAP innovations including SAP S/4HANA, SuccessFactor, the core offering of RISE with SAP and more, as a part of its new business strategy.
TZC’s portfolio includes a significant number of subsidiaries across various industry sectors such as arts and heritage, automotive, oil exploration and production, education, energy and logistics, financial services, manufacturing, real estate and hospitality, and related investments as well as engineering, construction and contracting.
Due to the size and scope of its portfolio, the organisation needed a holistic solution to address real-time business insights and bridge communication gaps across its subsidiaries.
Al Zubair M Al Zubair, Vice Chairman, TZC, commented: “Based on our digital transformation and business development strategies, SAP was the right choice to partner with, given the company’s global industry experience and knowledge of the regional landscape. We are confident that SAP innovations will enable TZC to become a more unified, automated and agile enterprise, delivering measurable business benefits and creating opportunities for further growth.”
Sergio Maccotta, Senior Vice President, Middle East South, SAP, said: “As one of the largest and most diverse businesses in Oman, we are proud to be helping The Zubair Corporation in their strategic digital transformation, which we firmly believe will play a major role in achieving the sultanate’s 2030 vision to boost the economy and prosperity of the Omani society. This new partnership serves as a true testament to SAP’s regional growth as we aim to support our customers in simplifying and optimising their landscape, enabling them to achieve their future goals and growth opportunities.”
Simplifying business processes
By moving to SAP’s S/4HANA and RISE with SAP, TZC will benefit from solutions to simplify complex business processes, while the full suite of solutions from SAP SuccessFactors will enable comprehensive management of day-to-day employee requirements and talent growth.
The overall digital transformation powered by SAP’s solutions will be spread across multiple phases, with the first phase focusing primarily on The Zubair Corporation’s headquarters and a select group of companies in its portfolio.
Abdullah Al Balushi, Board Advisor and Digital Transformation Executive Sponsor, TZC, added: “The diversified nature of the business portfolio of the Corporation and the complex legacy IT infrastructure created a critical need for centralised IT solution such as SAP ERP, with specific ERP module and application targeting specific business functions within The Zubair Corporation. We are looking forward to the efficiencies and productivity created by this digital transformation initiative, and the benefits it bring to the Corporation, business units and Zubair employees, as well as our clients, customers and suppliers.”
Waheed Al Hamaid, Country Manager, SAP Oman, added: “TZC is one of the largest and most varied businesses in Oman, making this a milestone project for SAP. We look forward to working with an organisation of this magnitude by playing an integral role in its digital transformation. Creating centralised HR and communications functions within the organisation, increasing their organisational resilience and being a part of their future growth are among the prospects that are most exciting to SAP in our work with TZC.”
Established in 1967 as Muscat Trading Company by Mohammad Al Zubair, TZC experienced a steady growth and diversification in huge strides over the next five decades under the leadership of late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said and His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik. Today the organisation has thousands of employees in various industry sectors, both within Oman and internationally.-- TradeArabia News Service
