The Saudi General Directorate of Civil Defence urged the public to exercise caution, remain in safe places, stay away from areas where floodwaters and valleys accumulate, and refrain from swimming in them.
It also urged people to follow instructions issued through various media outlets and social media platforms as thunderstorms continue across most regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through next Tuesday.
The National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) said that Makkah Region will be affected by moderate to heavy rainfall, which may result in flash floods, hail, and downdraft winds that stir up dust and sand.
It added that Jazan, Aseer, and Al-Baha regions will experience moderate to heavy rainfall that may result in flash floods, hail, and downdraft winds that stir up dust and sand, while Madinah, Hail, Tabuk, Al-Jouf, and Northern Borders regions are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall.
