A private medical facility has been shut down and its medical devices have been confiscated, it was announced today.
Expired commercial registration, unlicensed imports and incorrect storage of medical supplies were the reasons cited by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), in a statement.
“The establishment continued operations even after its permits were no longer valid,” it said.
“It continued selling inappropriately-stored medical equipment and pharmaceutical supplies whose quality and safety are questionable.
“Moreover, the facility tried to mislead the authority by acquiring a new commercial registration under the same name.”
The NHRA said that the case was handed over to relevant legal authorities, calling for businesses involved in the sale of medical goods to adhere to national regulations and standards.
