The Electricity and Water Authority’s (EWA) initiatives to enhance the quality of its electricity and water services to various social segments came under the spotlight yesterday as Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Wael Al Mubarak received a delegation from the advisory mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Middle East and Central Asia Department assistant director Asmaa El Ganainy led the delegation to the meeting, also attended by a number of officials from the EWA.
The minister highlighted Bahrain’s achievements in the fields of electricity, water and renewable energy during His Majesty King Hamad’s prosperous era, in line with the directives of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The officials reviewed the kingdom’s efforts to raise the electricity and water sector’s efficiency through constant development of procedures, use of modern technology and adoption of the best international practices to continue achieving the development goals.
They also shed light on the kingdom’s unwavering efforts to develop its infrastructure services to be able to attract more investments, as part of the Economic Recovery Plan, as well as enhance the urban and economic development, in line with the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
