Unstable weather conditions are expected to continue today, with thunderstorms forecast across several areas of the kingdom.
Strong northwesterly winds are also anticipated, with intermittent gusts reaching up to 30 knots.
Temperatures are set to range between 19C and 26C.
Citizens and residents were urged to exercise caution as the country experienced bouts of inclement weather over the last two days. Thundery showers, accompanied by powerful gusts, began at around 12.30pm on Wednesday and continued through the night, tapering off at approximately 3am yesterday.
Due to the strong winds, a tree collapsed in Duraz, and a barrier in the Seef area was also knocked down. Authorities responded promptly and addressed the damages in a timely manner.
Earlier in the day, satellite imagery from the Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry’s Meteorological Directorate indicated unstable weather conditions affecting much of the Arabian Peninsula.
The General Directorate of Traffic advised motorists to drive cautiously, remain within their designated lanes, adhere to speed limits and maintain a safe distance between vehicles. The Coastguard also urged seafarers to take precautions while at sea and remain alert to high winds for their safety.
Meanwhile, embassies across the kingdom issued safety advisories for their nationals. The Philippine Embassy urged its citizens to remain indoors during severe thunderstorms, high winds or heavy rainfall, and to secure or remove any loose items from balconies, rooftops and gardens.
It further advised the public to avoid low‑lying areas and drainage channels, and to stay away from fallen power lines, lamp posts or any electrical equipment.
