Within the framework of strong historical relations between Bahrain and the United Kingdom, and in line with the directives of National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander, Major General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Bahrain Royal Guard cavalry took part in the concluding show of the Windsor Equestrian festival.
Celebration
The show was held as part of the platinum jubilee celebration of Queen Elizabeth II.
This celebration marks the end of the annual equestrian festival in the backyard of Windsor Castle, where Bahrain contributes annually in sponsoring the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
The Bahrain Royal Guard cavalry presented shows with traditional Bahraini outfits reflecting Bahraini heritage and identity. This was complementary to the participation of the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team in the 160km, 120km and 100km races, which are classified within the International Equestrian Federation, and the participation of the Bahrain Defence Force and the Ministry of Interior showjumping teams, all clinching top places in these contests.
The function was attended by Bahrain Ambassador Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, and a number of officials.
Shaikh Fawaz affirmed strong and ever-growing relations between both countries to achieve common interests. He praised the distinguished shows presented by the Bahrain Royal Guard cavalry.
