ON the topic of “delivery riders”, all the solutions suggested by GDN letter writers can be considered as wishful thinking, because the “delivery riders” are analogical to firearm control in America; killings still happen and America, with all its codes of practice, control, etc., cannot stop people getting killed.
However, there is a three-way solution to this problem: First, put a cap on licensing more bike riders; second, enforce a law that requires all bike riders to put a sign somewhere behind their bike that says “How is my riding? Call this number, or upload picture in e-traffic app.”; third solution is that with every validated complain, points are added to the licence of the driver until he loses his licence altogether.
These three actions will deter them from reckless driving.
