Five Bahraini listed companies have made to Forbes Middle East’s annual ranking of the ‘Top 100 Listed Companies for 2022’. The list released yesterday shows that the region’s largest, most valuable, and most profitable companies include Ahli United Bank (AUB), Alba, Arab Banking Corporation (Bank ABC), National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) and Batelco in order of ranking.
In 32nd place is AUB led by Adel El Labban as group chief executive, with sales of $1.6 billion and market value of $11.5bn. Alba, with Ali Al Baqali as chief executive, follows in 47th place.
It reported sales of $4.2bn and has a market value of $5.8bn. The third Bahraini entry on the list is Bank ABC, with sales of $1.5bn and market value of $982 million, closely followed by Jean-Christophe Durand-led NBB in 95th place, valued at $3.4bn and having sales of $490m.
The kingdom’s incumbent telecoms operator, Batelco, with Mikkel Vinter at the helm, concludes the list coming in at 100, with sales of $1.1bn and market value of $2.4bn.
