Four Bahrainis have been selected for the highly competitive NBH Energy Leaders Programme postgraduate scholarships and will help shape the kingdom’s energy future.
The recipients demonstrated ‘outstanding academic performance, strong professional achievements, and clear leadership potential,’ according to programme co-ordinators.
“Their selection reflects the programme’s ambition to build a pipeline of highly qualified Bahraini talent ready to advance the kingdom’s energy transition and contribute to its long-term growth,” they added.
Three of the four recipients are employees of Bapco Refining.
Khalid Tariq Al Arabi will pursue a master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Futures at Imperial College London in the UK, Haya Jassim Darwish will pursue a master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering at Texas A&M University in the US and Hamad Osama Al Bannai will pursue a master’s degree in Sustainability and Energy Engineering at the University of Sheffield in the UK.
Meanwhile, Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) employee Mohammed Ali Al Medaifa will pursue a master’s degree in Sustainability and Energy Engineering at the University of Sheffield in the UK.
The recipients’ experience spans engineering, sustainability, industrial operations and commercial disciplines.
Their academic and professional accomplishments, combined with their drive to create meaningful impact, position them to support innovation and contribute to the kingdom’s energy sector, the programme co-ordinators added.
This is part of the NBH Future Energy Leaders’ scholarship and career development programme, a flagship national initiative designed to provide high-potential Bahrainis with advanced academic opportunities and a comprehensive development pathway.
Applications are now open until November 30 for the January 2027 intake.
