New push to defer loan instalments
Better to waive the loan instalments of all Bahrainis.
@r.mandeel
Only solution is to reduce VAT back to five per cent.
@hashmikalim8
Yes, we need it.
@rosesmiles4all
What a wonderful country, our little Kingdom of Bahrain! There is no other country where these topics are being considered by the government! God bless.
@amwaj_tala_property_anastasia
The key issue here is the visa business. The labour market is messed up. Unless the government starts tighter control of who gets a work visa, things will only get worse. There are tons of jobless expats here who work illegally which puts lots of pressure on businesses as some of these workers are illegal competitors who offer services at a lower cost.
@snap0grapher
VAT, free visa labour, also thanks to corona which has taught employers to get five people’s jobs done by one employee…
@theshadowmaquotes
Cost of living increasing day by day.
@rashidali.bh
Inshallah! We really need it.
@mohammad__000007
Cost of living increasing day by day and our salary is not enough; we have loans, it should be stopped for six months.
@f.albaloshia
Not a long-term way of solving the issue; banks also need money. If loan repayment deferred then the bank itself fails, which will have a devastating effect on the country’s economy! How to let the local people earn more income and have extra cash to spend rather than depending on borrowing is the key!
@kikaman888
Everything is expensive in Bahrain now.
@jam_4110
Shukran to the MPs of Bahrain and the government itself! As each day goes by and prices keep increasing, these types of decisions will ease the burden on individuals facing financial problems. Bahrain has been a friendly and wonderful country to the expats which is why a majority of the expats spend decades living in this wonderful country. We do hope that CBB will agree and co-operate to defer loan instalments.
@nobles_oven.bh
I think reducing VAT back to 5pc will help the community. Bahrain’s salaries are low compared to the UAE and they only charge 5% VAT. I think that is the issue here.
@nickjaug
Unpaid wages claim by 100 workers
Only 100? Must be kidding.
@zonicorner
There are many companies which don’t pay their workers salaries for five to six months and ministry does nothing. Sad truth.
@_nabeel.10
No one will take any action against these types of problems because nobody can do anything. That’s the truth.
@syed_ashu
In most cases with such a large number of unpaid workers, the main issue is companies going insolvent. The reason could be multiple such as companies not getting paid by clients, business loss or company owners doing financial fraud (I’m not accusing anyone of any of these here). But my point stands, without cash flow the slightest chance of workers getting paid is simply gone.
@snap0grapher
What do you think is the best way to tackle the strays crisis?
Dogs are ‘man’s best friend’ but we need to be responsible for taking good care of our own pets. However, the authorities should catch the strays and put them in the Animal Welfare Centre. They need shelter too and proper food; leaving them wandering around is too dangerous for them and for all the people they might encounter. Think of the safety of both humans and animals.
