MANAMA: Bahrain Chamber chairman Sameer Nass stressed on co-operation between the legislative and executive branches of the government and the private sector represented by the Bahrain Chamber in shaping economic policies and unifying efforts to spur the national economy and enhance gains for the people and the country.
This came during a session, titled ‘The Economic Impact Incubator’, held for Parliament candidates at the chamber’s premises yesterday.
During his inaugural speech, Mr Nass underlined the importance of aligning visions, enhancing co-operation, and unifying efforts to foster the country’s sustainable development in line with the ambitious Economic Vision 2030.
He explained that the session stems from the firm belief of the 30th board of directors of the chamber in the importance of sharing ideas and experiences and joining efforts to keep the national economy abreast of the fast-paced developments in the region and the world.
Mr Nass spoke about the chamber’s strategic goals and initiatives for the current term, and reiterated the importance of collaboration in meeting the common goals.
Speaking at the event, Parliament member and chamber board member Ahmed Al Saloom touched upon the existing collaboration between the chamber and the parliament, voicing pride in the chamber’s role in devising the economic recovery plan, in addition to conducting studies and sharing findings with the government. He added that the chamber mirrors the sentiment of the business community and represents the private sector, which is a key driver to the national economy.
The session also discussed current economic challenges, shared two case studies, and addressed the questions of the attendees.
