MANAMA: No licence has been issued to a private office to hire expatriate workers, a source told our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.
It followed a video circulated on social media of a person claiming he opened an office to recruit Asian workers.
The video is about a multi-entry electronic visa that has been introduced for the purpose of training and rehabilitation in Bahrain, the source said. The visa is valid for six months, and after which the employer may hire the trainee, said the source.
This BD60 visa, introduced some time ago, may be extended. The applicant must be a trainer or a trainee, and the employer must be a government unit or institution or a public or private company, the source pointed out, stressing the need to attach a letter from the employer explaining the type of training and the details related thereto, along with a copy of the passport valid for more than six months.
