A WHEELCHAIR-BOUND Bahraini was all smiles as he confidently filed his candidacy for Parliament from the Muharraq Governorate last night.
“People’s love and trust are all that I need to win elections,” said Saad Mahboob, a die-hard fan of the Muharraq Football Club, who submitted his papers at the Al Hidaya Al Khalifiya Secondary School for Boys. He is contesting for a Parliament seat in constituency five (Galali, Amwaj Islands and Dear Al Muharraq).
Mr Mahboob, who had previously contested the 2018 polls, said he had ‘complete faith in his ability to serve the people’.
“I haven’t visited any majlises, but I was taken aback when so many people expressed their love and support, which inspired me to file the nomination,” he said.
