ELECTRONIC payment machines have been installed at each of the four election supervisory centres to facilitate the application process for hopeful MPs, according to a top minister.
“We have introduced these machines to make the process easier for them,” Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Nawaf Al Maawda told the GDN at the sidelines of a visit to Khawla Secondary Girls School, the supervisory centre for the Capital Governorate, yesterday.
The Sadad machines allow electoral candidates to clear any overdue electricity and water bills, while also allowing them to make any government or available private bill payments.
“Anyone having any overdue electricity bills has to clear them before he/she is eligible to run for office,” he added.
