Specialised teams have stepped up operations to combat mosquitoes, using spraying machines and thermal fogging, authorities have said.
Special pesticides are also being used to reduce the spread of mosquitoes.
Such clean-up campaigns are carried out round the year to combat mosquitoes and their larvae, said a joint statement issued by the ministries of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and Health yesterday.
The statement pledged continued campaigns to dispose of waste and protect public health.
The ministries issued the statement in response to reports of a rise in mosquito menace.
The Capital Trustees and other three municipalities regularly remove construction waste and clean up streets round the week, said the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture.
Municipal teams also recently cleaned rainwater drainage channels and carried out stale water suction operations in preparation for the rainy season to prevent the spread of mosquitoes.
It stressed the need to comply with regulations on removing waste, urging the public to report any cleanliness issues and rainwater pools on hotline 80008188.
The Health Ministry urged the public to report their remarks on the ministry hotline 66701633 between 7am and 2pm.
