Electricity and Water Authority customer services head Ali Fareed said yesterday that the new billing system is fully connected to digital meters, removing the need to inspectors to take a reading.
This results in more accurate readings and bills, he said.
The new system allows to be linked to other relevant authorities, by obtaining subscribers’ information from the authorities rather than from the subscribers themselves, thus enabling consumers to submit their requests easily, he added. It restores power connecton without the need to send personnel to the site
