His Majesty King Hamad yesterday received a cable of congratulations from Information Affairs Minister Dr Ramzan Al Nuaimi, following the designation of Manama as the Capital of Arab Media in 2024 during the 53rd regular session of the Arab Information Ministers’ Council, held in Rabat, Morocco.
The minister noted that the honour reflects Arab countries’ appreciation for the pioneering status reached by the media in Bahrain thanks to the King’s sound visions and directives.
He asserted that the new achievement confirms the continuous successes attained by the kingdom’s media sector, in light of the King’s unwavering care, and comprehensive development process which promoted freedom of opinion and expression, and encouraged the Bahraini media to defend the nation’s interests with utmost responsibility and professionalism.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, also received a cable of congratulations from Dr Al Nuaimi on the Arab honour.
The minister indicated that the choice of Manama as the Capital of Arab Media in 2024 is the outcome of the regional and global respect and appreciation enjoyed by the national media thanks to the support and care of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Dr Al Nuaimi noted HRH Prince Salman’s commitment to develop the media sector, based on far-reaching visions on consolidating freedom of opinion and expression, which are core pillars of the kingdom’s comprehensive development.
