Kuwaiti authorities arrested a man accused of murdering a security guard at a construction site in the Mutlaa area less than 24 hours after the crime was reported.
According to Kuwait's Interior Ministry, authorities received a report on the morning of Friday, October 30, that the body of a security guard had been found on the roof of a construction site.
Security personnel immediately rushed to the scene, examined the site and collected evidence.
Investigators soon focused on a former security guard, a Bangladeshi national, who had reportedly been dismissed from his job a day before the victim's body was discovered.
The suspect later turned himself in at a police station in connection with an unrelated case of overstaying his expired visa. Investigators said he had hoped to be deported before his alleged involvement in the murder was uncovered.
During questioning, the suspect allegedly confessed to the killing. He admitted to assaulting the victim with a piece of wood and a knife following a dispute.
The suspect has since been taken into custody, and legal proceedings are under way.
