A WOMAN will go on trial after being accused of running an online advertising and marketing business without a licence.
She will have her first hearing at the Lower Criminal Court on August 28 on charges of managing a social media account that offers promotional services without an appropriate permit.
Prosecutors first received a report about the suspect from the Interior Ministry’s anti-cyber crime directorate, who in turn received a report from the Industry and Commerce Ministry about the social media account.
Running an unlicensed business carries a maximum jail sentence of one year, or a maximum fine of BD100, according to the Public Prosecution.
