TWO of Omega’s golfing ambassadors revelled in victory over the weekend at a season-long golf tournament to crown the European Tour’s top player.
Clinching the title five times, Rory Mcllroy became the Race to Dubai champion for the second year in a row – a record in the golfing world, while Nicolai Hojgaard won his third European Tour Title.
It’s a fantastic achievement and shows the consistent precision and power that Mr Mcllroy has delivered throughout the year.
Formerly known as the Order of Merit up until 2009, the Race to Dubai was born to attract a wider audience, as well as to position Dubai as a final destination of the European Tour season.
Comprising a large number of tournaments, the Race to Dubai is an annual golf competition that has been held since 1971. It is used to rank players to recognise and reward the best golfers participating in the season, and the player with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the winner.
