It was with a bleeding heart I finished reading The Year of Grief and Sorrow by Anwar Abudulrahman (GDN, December 24).
Amidst continuous and cruel catastrophes caused by nature and mad men of the world, sane people around us still kept their cool and hopefully continued to celebrate festivals and occasions, always expecting good times to come. But the present war against the Palestinians has once again made it to be a mirage.
Common people – right thinking men and women – elders, children, etc who even in their dreams do not think of harming others have been massacred mercilessly by horrible hearts which enjoy bloodshed and killings.
Institutions of humane services like hospitals, schools, places of worship, residences, etc have been bombarded by beasts and misguided monsters causing worst pains to millions of people. We stand as helpless spectators to the gruesome killing of innocent lives and destruction of properties and prosperity.
Those who are responsible for this very serious sinful act, both directly and indirectly, must be brought to book by all the peace-loving countries of the world unitedly. The sane countries must join to resort to all possible tough actions such as imposing actions, isolation, etc against the war-mongering masters.
The hopes and aspirations of millions of people have been washed away by inflicting wrongful wars, bringing clouds of sorrow and hopelessness all over the world.
The world was preparing to celebrate Christmas, spreading the message of love and compassion, which has now been totally thwarted.
It is very sad to see few Big Brothers, while fanning and supporting the war of destruction, outwardly shed crocodile tears. History will not pardon them and will surely subject them to unimaginable sufferings and destruction. God will certainly punish those who resort to cruel acts of killing His children.
We see many countries who wish love, peace and prosperity to prevail over the world, including Bahrain, sincerely trying to stop this insane ongoing war waged by enemies of mankind. We pray and wish those countries to succeed in their noble efforts to bring back the much-needed peace and tranquillity.
Though this year’s Christmas may not be a merry one, let us make it a Christmas of faith and prayers to God for saving the world from hate and destruction.
I express my sincere thanks to Mr Anwar Abdulrahman for echoing the sad feelings of millions of people.
Let peace be back on our planet.
