The Bull’s Head caricature is also famous as the motif of one of the kingdom’s most popular and longest-running expatriate clubs.
An image can be spotted on the entrance of The Dilmun Club, affectionately known as The Dilly, in Saar, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year having been formed by four expatriate workers at Alba in 1974.
“The Bull’s Head has been associated with the Dilmun Club since its inception,” said GM Stephen Chartres. “It’s a popular name of hostelries back in the UK and the Brits who founded the club had a good sense of humour and loved Bahrain’s ancient history so the logo seemed fitting.”
