A NEW facility that is to be set up in Bahrain will provide long-term care services for people with complex medical needs requiring extended inpatient stays.
Featuring a dedicated laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, therapy rooms, gym, hydrotherapy, majlis and recreational spaces, the facility aims to offer world-class, tech-enabled services.
It will also offer tailored social programmes and non-clinical services, such as community gatherings and recreational events, to help patients and their families adjust to life after hospitalisation.
Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund Mumtalakat and Abu Dhabi’s M42, a tech-focused healthcare company, yesterday announced a partnership to launch the Amana Healthcare facility in the kingdom.
Amana Healthcare, a M42 subsidiary known for its long-term care model, will expand its reach from the UAE to Bahrain.
The new facility aligns with Bahrain’s Vision 2030 goals to improve healthcare accessibility and quality, and is expected to open in 2025.
This collaboration strengthens Mumtalakat’s commitment to investing in Bahrain and M42’s focus on delivering customised healthcare solutions.
It aims to position the country as a leader in specialised rehabilitation and long-term care, while creating jobs for Bahrainis in the medical field.
“Our partnership signifies a commitment to long-term collaboration,” said Mumtalakat chief executive Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
“This will enhance Bahrain’s healthcare landscape by addressing gaps and offering high-skilled jobs.”
M42 chief executive Hasan Al Nowais emphasised the company’s advanced healthcare expertise.
“We bring Amana Healthcare’s world-class services to Bahrain for complex medical conditions,” he said.
“This aligns with our vision to improve lives and overall quality of life.”
Amana Healthcare’s model is known for reducing pressure on acute care hospitals and promoting efficient resource utilisation.
The company was recognised in 2023 for its digital transformation efforts, positive work culture and sustainability practices.
This partnership between Mumtalakat and M42 strengthens Bahrain’s healthcare sector while showcasing M42’s dedication to personalised healthcare solutions.
