THE speech of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, during the high-level general debate at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 79) has charted a roadmap for global peace, ministers, senior officials and legislators affirmed.
They praised the speech before the UN session, stressing the civilisational and reform message it conveyed.
The address has presented a modern and sustainable vision on Bahrain’s commitment to collective work to achieve global security, peace and prosperity, being an entrenched approach in the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, they said.
They praised HRH Prince Salman’s call for a holistic and consensus-driven reform of the UN that encompasses all its decision-making bodies, including the UN Security Council.
They praised HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s pioneering initiative to approve an international convention to regulate and govern the development of artificial intelligence and benefit from modern technologies for peace, prosperity and growth.
Bahrain’s speech has provided a crystal-clear diagnosis of the international political situation and reviewed appropriate solutions to overcome challenges and hardships and achieve the globally-sought noble goals, they said.
They also lauded HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s assertion of Bahrain’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people who are experiencing an unprecedented humanitarian tragedy.
HRH Prince Salman has put a comprehensive and well-defined diplomatic framework to overcome crises and conflicts, they said, pointing out that the address explicitly highlighted the perils facing people across the globe because of radical changes in the global geopolitical system and the appearance of revolutionary technologies that will reshape the world and multiply environmental and health challenges.
