A number of violations were found as the Coastguard conducted an inspection campaign aimed at protecting marine resources and enforcing fishing regulations.
The breaches included possession of illegal fishing nets, licensing issues and other fishing violations. Legal measures were taken.
The inspections, conducted by the Interior Ministry and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, checked the validity of fishing licences for small vessels and ensured the presence of essential marine safety equipment on board and licensed fishing tools.
The Coastguard emphasised the importance of all fishermen adhering to Bahrain’s fishing laws, noting that the inspections will continue regularly to protect the kingdom’s marine, environmental and natural resources.
