An illegal resident in Kuwait was arrested for fraud after it was found that he had impersonated a member of the royal family and conned a woman out of KD15,000 (BD18,384).
According to reports, the man, who called himself 'Shaikh M.Kh', defrauded the woman by convincing her to send him several gifts and large sums of money.
The woman reportedly met the conman in May 2023. They soon got into a relationship, and over the next 18 months, he swindled her out of thousands of dinars, all with the promise that she would be repaid once they got married.
The woman realised she was duped after she was contacted by the police, who said she was one of several women that the man had managed to con.
