Twenty Bahraini societies have rejected US President Donald Trump’s remarks that support ethnic cleansing in Gaza, said a report in our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.
In a statement issued yesterday, they strongly condemned his call for sending the Palestinians to other countries, saying that this would only add to more instability in the region and threaten the national security of Arab countries.
“The people of Gaza who stood against occupation and aggression for decades will not forsake their rights to their land and country. Rather than calling for the displacement of Palestinians, what is required now is to end the occupation, stop the aggression, support the rights of refugees to return to their country, and establish a Palestinian state on all the historic land of Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital,” they said.
The societies praised the stand of certain Arab countries that rejected calls for the displacement of Gazans, saying that their position is a reflection of Arab solidarity in support of the rights of Palestinians to their homeland.
They called on all Arab governments and people to unite against these statements and appealed to the international community to shoulder its moral and legal responsibilities in condemning the irresponsible statements of the US president.
“Palestine will remain the first cause for the Arabs, Muslims and all free people of the world.”
