Bahrain’s leading retail group LuLu Hypermarket launched its grand ‘Ahlan Ramadan’ shopping experience last night.
The ceremony at Dana Mall was attended by Industry and Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro.
Showcasing its well-defined strategy of providing great value with a slew of shopping deals as well as meaningful charity initiatives, the campaign highlighted LuLu Hypermarket’s Price Lock Programme.
During a tour of the store, Mr Fakhro was told that the programme would ensure that prices of essential foods would be locked in at an affordable level until the end of the Holy Month.
“The Price Lock will ensure that the most used essentials like rice, flour, sugar, tea and oil remain locked at a pre-fixed point for affordability,” a statement from the hypermarket added.
In addition, an assortment of attractive deals and offers will be available at the 11 LuLu outlets in Bahrain.
LuLu is also providing a platform for local and regional entrepreneurs with its Ramadan Suq, which will showcase small and medium-sized enterprises’ best products and services alongside global shopping offers from LuLu to attract new customers.
This year, during the Holy Month, LuLu is also working to bring a Farmers Market to its mix of Ramadan shopping experiences to promote locally grown farm produce. The Farmers Market will offer customers an opportunity to get the freshest produce, dairy and poultry products sourced from local farms and also interact with Bahraini farmers.
“We wish all our shoppers Ramadan Kareem and we want to ensure that LuLu is always the heartbeat of the family by offering the best goods at the most affordable prices which have been ‘locked in’,” LuLu Group International director Juzer Rupawala explained. “We have also crafted a thoughtful and meaningful CSR programme that harnesses the spirit of charity in the Holy Month for the benefit of children in Bahrain.”
With shoppers looking for healthy options, there will be plenty of fresh fruit from around the world and quick energy bites such as dates and nuts, nutrient-packed apricots, figs, prunes, raisins, walnuts, almonds, cashews, pistachios and other delicious nibbles for Ramadan feasts.
Another popular feature to be returning will be the LuLu ‘Box of Happiness’ where all essential goods can be bought at a fixed price in one box, with BD5, BD10 and BD20 options available.
“Families can plan ahead and prepare for the Holy Month with our emphasis on sharing and carefully prepared home food with deals and promotions on the choicest Ramadan staples,” a spokesperson added.
In addition, LuLu also unveiled two community support initiatives – the Smile Shop, a creative platform to support children with cancer in partnership with SMILE, a Bahrain Future Society for Youth initiative, as well as its annual fundraiser in support of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, in which shoppers can add a financial contribution of 100 fils and upwards to their order during checkout.
At the Smile Shop, which is currently being piloted at LuLu’s Dana Mall, bags, bottles, books and mugs, carrying stunning designs by Bahraini artists, are being sold with 80 per cent of the proceeds from sale set to help children suffering from cancer.
“We are starting first at Dana Mall to see how it goes and then we plan to roll this initiative out to all the LuLu branches,” Smile Initiative ambassador and consultant Zahra Almahoozi told the GDN.
