The Cabinet has welcomed Bahrain’s medical milestone in successfully completing the treatment of the world’s first sickle cell disease patient outside the US using the gene-editing therapy Casgevy.
Yesterday’s session, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, commended the efforts of the authorities concerned in facilitating this groundbreaking achievement.
Ministers also congratulated the patient and wished him continued health and well-being.
