Export Bahrain and the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen trade ties and ease market access for Bahraini businesses in Brazil, officials said.
The agreement, signed by Export Bahrain chief executive Safa Sharif Abdulkhaliq and ABCC secretary general Mohamad Mourad, aims to streamline export processes, provide market support, foster collaboration and encourage joint economic projects.
The signing, attended by Brazil’s ambassador to Bahrain Adriano Silva Pucci, underscores both nations’ commitment to expanding economic relations.
Industry and Commerce Minister and Export Bahrain chairman Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro said the deal reflects the kingdom’s goal to broaden its global trade network and reinforce its position as a regional hub. He highlighted the potential for new opportunities for Bahraini firms and the contribution to economic diversification.
Ms Abdulkhaliq called the MoU a “pivotal advancement” in strengthening trade relations and noted the potential for a more balanced trade flow, given Brazil’s status as a major import source.
Mr Mourad said the partnership would unlock new commercial growth and support Bahraini businesses in accessing new markets, with the ABCC providing tailored export solutions.
