Bahrain Space Agency (BSA) Satellite Design Department chief Aysha Al Haram has been appointed co-chair of the newly established “SSPI-WISE East” regional group under the Space and Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) initiative Women in Space Engagement (WISE), reflecting Bahrain’s growing role in the global space sector.
Ms Al Haram is the first Arab woman to assume a senior leadership role within the organisation, which focuses on empowering women and youth in the space and satellite industry worldwide .
